Vehicles
CRO runs a fleet of three Land Rover Defenders, two of which (CRO 1 and CRO2) are rotated between 'Duty Vehicle' and 'Standby Vehicle', and the third (CRO 3) is available as a personnel carrier and / or off-road ambulance.
This also ensures that we have a vehicle in readiness at the conclusion of any major incident when kit has to be cleaned, CRO 3 carries enough equipment to handle a simple, non-technical, mountain rescue, and is able to safely transport a loaded stretcher across rough ground to the roadhead. CRO 1 is a 130 TD5 converted to our specification as a five seat Utility Station Wagon; CRO 2 is a standard 110 TD5 Hard Top; and CRO 3 is a 110 Tdi eleven seat Station Wagon. |
CRO was awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service in 2010, on our 75th anniversary, for providing cave and mountain rescue services in the local community. This award is the equivalent of an MBE for voluntary organisations What's going onUser login |
