Following two incidents involving the flooding of local cave systems this weekend, cavers are reminded of the value of local knowledge and weather forecasts.

Caving is a safe sport provided adequate information is combined with experience to guide decisions.

Aberystwyth Caving Club will be walking 75 miles to raise money for cave rescue this August. The walk will be from Aberystwyth to the SWCC in Penwyllt and take four days. A Just Giving page has been created at: http://www.justgiving.com/acc-walk

The walk will take place from the 10th - 13th August and any help would be brilliant.

The 2010 Game Show was blessed with the best weather for years. A warm sunny day following several weeks without rain. Unfortunately, the event happened to clash with a hastily arranged football match between a bunch of no-hopers and a world class team, so visitor numbers to the Game Show were drastically down on last year. While the accounts have not yet been finalised, it seems likely there will be very little profit (if any at all) to be distributed to the two local Rescue Teams (ourselves and Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue).
