DENT BREWERY PRODUCE LIMITED EDITION ALE IN HONOUR OF THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CAVE RESCUE ORGANISATION
To support the 75th anniversary of the Cave Rescue Organisation, award winning local Dent Brewery will be brewing a limited edition beer called Rescewe. Importantly, they will make a donation to The Cave Rescue Organisation for every pint or bottle sold. Situated in picturesque Dentdale, Dent Brewery is one of the most remote breweries in the country. Established in 1990 in a converted stone barn, they produce fine traditional ales which have won many awards.
The Rescewe brew is a 4.2%ABV dark chestnut coloured premium bitter, smooth and full bodied with a warming dry finish and a satisfying aftertaste. It has been carefully brewed from selected malts and hops combined with pure spring water from Rise Hill. It will be available from the end of May in both casks and bottles and will be on sale in local pubs and shops across the region and also by mail order.
Watch out for the quirky eye-catching artwork that has been specially commissioned for the bottles and pump clips showing a rescue Landrover on the side of Ingleborough with a black sheep on the roof (hence Rescewe!).
Judith Beeley from Dent Brewery said “we felt we should support CRO on the very special occasion of their 75th anniversary because it’s a really great cause, close to our hearts. Obviously, we are based in the Dales, we are long time fell-walkers and know their volunteers do a sterling job in all weathers, 365 days of the year.”
On 5th June, the CRO are having an Open Day at their headquarters in Clapham to celebrate their anniversary and the beer will be available at two local hostelries - The New Inn and The Old Manor House. The day will run from 10am until 5pm and will include a rescue race in the river, an all day BBQ, media show, equipment demonstrations, live music, climbing tower, bouncy castle and much more.
