CRO area of operation

This map shows the area covered by CRO, it is broadly the Three Peaks, Kingsdale and Malhamdale areas of the Yorkshire Dales. Upper Dentdale and Casterton Fell in Cumbria, along with Leck Fell in Lancashire.

CRO bordering teams are:

To North	Kirkby Stephen Mountain Rescue Team
To North East	Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team
To East	Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association
To South	Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team
To West	Kendal Mountain Rescue Team

Queens award for voluntary services

CRO was awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service in 2010, on our 75th anniversary, for providing cave and mountain rescue services in the local community. This award is the equivalent of an MBE for voluntary organisations
